Program Description:
The Enable for Children & Youth program is dedicated to addressing the social, emotional, mental, and academic needs of immigrant and refugee children and youth. Program activities include Homework Club (age 6-11), Art Therapy (age 6-13), Music Workshops (age 6-11) and Youth Night (age 12-18) at Vic High. Enable offers a safe, welcoming and fun space for children and youth to thrive and learn.

Enable Program Projects for Children & Youth
HOMEWORK CLUB
This program provides a safe space for children ages 6–11 to learn, make new friends, build self-confidence, and improve academic performance. Homework Club supporting newcomers and BIPOC children in building lasting friendships

ART THERAPY FOR CHILDREN
A school-based art therapy program for newcomer children (ages 6–13), using creative expression and play to support emotional well-being and adjustment. Delivered in group sessions over 6–10 weeks at schools across Greater Victoria.

YOUTH NIGHT ACTIVITY
Youth Night offers a safe and fun space for youth (ages 12–18) to practice English, make friends, and be in community. Activities include workshops, art projects, games, sports, and events like hockey games, hikes, cooking workshops, and more, a great way to experience new things with friends from around the world!

MUSIC WORKSHOP
A school-based music workshop for newcomer children (ages 6–11), offering fun and interactive sessions to help them feel more comfortable in a new environment. Facilitated in groups over 6 weeks at schools across Greater Victoria.

YOUTH STRIDES SUMMER CAMP
Youth Summer Camp is a week-long summer camp for newcomer youth focused on leadership, life skills, and fun activities like sports, art, and outdoor recreation.

SPARKS
Sparks is a free, school-based program that supports newcomer children ages 6 to 12 as they adjust to their new communities and the Canadian school system. Through games, group activities, arts and crafts, stories, music, and sports, children build connections, practice English, and explore cultures from around the world. Our activities are thoughtfully designed to promote confidence, healthy social skills, and creative self-expression while fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all participants

YOUTH HEALING CIRCLE
Join us for a safe and supportive healing circle for youth who have experienced discrimination in any form. This gathering offers a space to share stories, release pain, and reconnect with strength and community. Through guided reflection and conversation, we will honour each other's experiences while nurturing resilience and hope for the future.
