Digital Literacy for BIPOC Seniors (55+)

The Newcomers Seniors Empowerment Program is a new initiative developed to support older adults in building digital literacy, increasing community engagement, and fostering independence in an increasingly technology-based world. This program is made possible through generous funding from the District of Saanich and is coordinated by VIRCS.

The program is designed to empower seniors by teaching them how to navigate digital platforms confidently ranging from basic smartphone use to accessing online health services and government information. We also aim to reduce social isolation and enhance community connectedness through both virtual and in-person events.
