Gladys is currently working with The BC Government; Ministry of Health as a Financial Analyst supporting ministry program areas and initiatives with financial planning and reporting.
Prior to joining BC Government, Gladys served in various finance and program leadership positions in Non-Governmental Organizations in Kenya; East Africa. Her experience spans over 20 years across targeted programs areas ranging from Health, HIV&AIDS, Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC), Water and Sanitation (WATSAN), Agriculture, Micro finance, Education, Peace building, Emergency relief and Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
Prior to coming to Canada from Kenya, she served in various Not for profit organization and her immediate past role in Kenya was a Grants Management, Compliance & HSS Advisor for a CDC funded HIV&AIDS Program, where for 10 years, she led the Health Systems Strengthening, partnership management, budget solicitation and development, contracts and sub agreements management units. Gladys brings on board her passion to serve and volunteer in community impact-led initiatives. Part of her experience includes serving as a Board member for the Society for Women and AIDS in Kenya (SWAK), and in various non-governmental organizations technical working groups, advising in grants and policy formulation.
Gladys is a Certified Public Accountant; Kenya (CPA-K), a graduate in Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) - Finance option and a MSc. In Project Management. Additionally, she has a certificate in Project Management for Development Professionals (PMD-PRO), a certificate in Project Leadership and Organization Design from Cornell University among other professional Development courses ranging from projects, finance, people leadership and management.
In her free time, Gladys enjoys spending time working in her vegetable garden, hiking and enjoying the beautiful scenery in Victoria with her husband and two children.
