Bruce McGuigan

I began doing community work with North Shore Family Services as a youth worker in the 1970s and worked managing youth programs throughout the 80s.  Since then, I have worked in provincial government in a variety of roles (training, policy, management), as Executive Director at Family Services of Greater Victoria. I have also been a sociology professor at several institutions including the University of Victoria and at Vancouver Island University from which I recently retired. I enjoy helping community serving organizations and have served on several non-profit boards, including a term on the board of VIRCS ending 5 years ago.  I have stayed involved with VIRCS for ten years and I am always impressed by the important work done by its staff.
