What is this program about?
Be Friends Program (ages 19-30)
- This 3 month Program helps young adults new to Canada make friends and start having a social support network in Victoria!
- Every participant gets to meet a Canadian citizen or local resident having similar interests, occupation, hobbies, character, and age!
- We provide free monthly group socials and outings to nearby parks, museums, neighborhoods, and even cooking sessions!
- We also have educational workshops about Canadian culture and values, Diversity in Canada, Health and Wellness, and more!

Here is a testimonial about the Program:
“The Buddy program is amazing, it helped me to make connections with more people and also make more friends!! I started my friendship with Ramiro through the program and now we usually go for a hike once a week and spend a whole day together!!”
~ Eduardo P Marques.
Family Friendship Program (for parents)
- This Program introduces a newcomer family to a Canadian couple/family sharing same kids’ age, occupation, hobbies, and more.
- Both families get together for kids’ play-dates, park visits, children’s events, at a time that works for them every week.
- Canadian host volunteers learn about a new culture and even a second language, and the newcomer family learns about parenting in Canada and receives some support as well.
Here is a testimonial about the Program:
“With the Family Friendship Program I found a great person welcoming me with open arms to Canada, with whom I have found support and friendship for myself and my son. I have found someone who completely understands immigrants who go through culture shock without passing any judgment. It has been a real pleasure having a friend like her! This Program surpassed my expectations!”
~ Malena, newcomer from Mexico.
